This is my Final Reel to be handed into the school. There are things I wish I had time to change but time here has come to an end. I hope this impresses someone 🙂
This is the incomplete demo reel I have been working on the past few weeks. Some frames are missing from the final renders, No wireframe turn arounds yet. Credits aren’t done, no school logo. The helicopter IS textured but I have no recent renders yet and I have not done any UDK screen captures yet.
Yeah still have a lot of work to do in the next 3 weeks…
Could this be my chance?
Bioware announced earlier today that they are looking for environment artists to work on Dragon Age 3. Not only am I a big fan of the series, but it also happens to be one of the top companies I wanted to work for when I graduated. I am going to have to take some time to do a couple of demonstration pieces to show what I can do and send it in with an updated resume.
Chances of me actually getting this job? Slim to none, but that doesn’t stop me from bombarding them with applications!
After long working on my Digital Painting skills, I decided it was time to go back over an old favorite of mine. A few days of work and really helpful feedback later, I was able to complete it and be satisfied. So I posted it to my Deviantart page ( Preview posted below ). I suppose some of my followers were more than impressed. A current client of mine requested more work from me, on top of that, a most unexpected invitation came my way.
From a Craig Musselman. Author of Talent Next Door is starting up a similar project accepting artwork this time from fantasy and sci-fi artists for Machines and Magic. Asking for nothing in return all he asks for is permission to print your artwork and promote you in the art book. I would never have come across this offer if he had not invited me through that post. Of course there are a lot of skeptics out there, thinking he is only trying to steal the artwork. I did my research over his site, to those that think I am a fool, we shall see in time.
